A little over a year ago, a small group of people began meeting in an apartment in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago with the dream of helping this community become all that it can be. They couldn’t help but notice that Chicago is filled with hurried, worried and busy people. In an effort to give their neighbors some encouragement and hope one of them got an idea for #chalktheblock. The idea is now spreading all over Chicagoland and is something that everyone can participate in. In this video, Rich Gorman tells the story of how it all got started.

I am so impressed with the Chalk the Block Movement. I think it's such an awesome way to let people feel a piece of God in their lives in a very subtle way. Additionally, you have invovled the youth in a form of evangelism that would be within their comfort level, while sharing messages that strengthen the reader's self-esteem and relationship with God. Thanks Debbie. Like you, I'm excited about the participation we are seeing from all age groups and the stories that have come out of it. If you haven't checked out www.walkthechalk.org, you should check it out and read a couple of the stories posted. Very cool.
