Dr. Ed Dobson who is the Vice President of Spiritual Formation at Cornerstone University (where my daughter Amy attends) in Grand Rapids, Michigan took on the challenge of trying to live like Jesus in 2008. This challenge meant that Dobson would literally try to do everything Jesus did; this included not shaving, only eating what he would eat and most of all doing everything that Jesus would do. You can read the complete interview by USA Today with Dr. Ed Dobson by clicking HERE. Or you can listen to Dobson on streaming video when he appeared on ABC's Good Morning America by clicking HERE.
I don't think it's possible to live completely like Jesus - but we should make an effort daily to do so (minus the not shaving part)!

Hey Dave
I was glad to get the chance to hear Ed speak, complete with his resplendent beard at a visit to Mars Hill over the Christmas holidays.
Peace & blessings

I did read the article in the Kalamazoo Gazette and found it interesting. I have known of Dr. Dobson for years and highly respect him. The only question mark I had was in regards to healing. It mentioned in the article that he doesn't pray for God to heal him. I also noticed that he never mentioned praying for healing of the sick or casting out demons during this year of "living like Jesus." This is curious to me because 2/3 of everything we read about Jesus revolves around that very activity and emphasis of the character of God. Some would say that it is a dispensational issue which makes that outdated. I would then say that most of the kosher activity was as well. I pray for Dr. Dobson's healing as well as grace to endure the challenge of this disease. Just a thought.

I'm just wondering... why? At least as far as the shaving, eating, etc. Apparently according to Dobson, Jesus would vote for Obama as well.
Now trying to live like Jesus in the way we minister, treat others, love, give, pray, etc. That should very much be our desire and something we do for the rest of our lives.
