it's called shareaholic. Thought'd be cool because i noticed it lets you post to your facebook and stuff. Also look at clipmarks and Stumble Upon.
They're all firefox add-ons, so get Firefox 3.

Hey Dave, with all the negative things I have heard from Twitter users I have never even tried that app. However, this Pownce app has potential! I generate email lists and send things, but then I'm the only one that gets the responses. Pownce creates a sense of community and since all of my friends like to crack jokes and make fun of me, I think they'll get a kick out of this app. Thanks to you I downloaded this just now and am going to give it a try!

I've been using it for awhile and its ok. I like the feature where I can send larger files to my friends. It's more reliable I think because its not as big.
I think the value of any of these social networks is when the people you know or want to know join. Twitter was kind of boring until tons of people started joining.

Looks like a spiffier version of Google Talk.

I'm using Pownce (jaredcwhite) but mainly for a microblogging platform. I'm not using it for the community. I'd certainly be happy to see it used for that, but most of the people I know who use anything like this use Twitter, so there you go.
